Your videos
Your videos stay on your PC. VVP opens video files locally. Playback, scope/canvas display, frame stepping and pause-frame enhancement are processed on the device. VVP does not upload video content or extracted frames.

Feedback you choose to submit
When you use File > Feedback, VVP sends the selected category, the message you entered, the installed application version and the current Basic/Pro edition to the VVP feedback service over HTTPS. It does not send the open video, screenshots, filename, file path, computer name or Windows user name. Feedback is stored so it can be read and used to improve or support VVP. Do not include personal or sensitive information unless needed.
Update checks
Unpackaged website-installed versions of VVP can send their current application version to the VVP update service. The response indicates whether a newer website-installed version is available. Microsoft Store versions rely on Store updates instead.
Pro access and licensing
VVP can check Microsoft Store licensing information to determine whether the Pro add-on is owned. Microsoft handles Store account, purchase and licence information under its own privacy terms.
Customers who purchased Pro through the VVP website can choose to restore that purchase in an unpackaged website-installed version. This sends the entered account email address and password to the VVP licence service over HTTPS for verification. A returned authorisation code and the username are stored in VVP's per-user settings on the PC. These settings can be cleared by logging out.
Local settings
VVP stores preferences on the PC, including the last folder used to open a file, whether to open maximised and, when used, legacy website purchase details described above. These preferences are not video uploads.
The getvvp.com website
The public product pages do not include an analytics service or advertising tracker. The web server may create standard security and access logs containing information such as IP address, browser details, requested page and date/time.
New website accounts and website purchases are no longer offered. Existing customers can still choose to restore a historic website purchase from an unpackaged website-installed version of VVP as described above.
Your choices
- You can use local playback without submitting feedback.
- You can avoid the legacy website licence service if you do not restore an earlier website Pro licence.
- You can remove the saved legacy username and authorisation code by logging out in VVP.
- You can avoid including personal information in feedback text.

- Microsoft Store: Store distribution, purchases and licence checks for Store editions.
- Website hosting provider: website delivery and standard server logging.
Questions
The project does not currently publish a privacy or support email address. Privacy questions can be sent through the in-app Feedback feature, but do not include sensitive information.
